Last weekend Raquel and I decided to escape London and take advantage of the sunny weather with a day trip to Cambridge. I am once again reminded of my foolishness of living in this country and never once making the effort of going to Cambridge.

The Delights of Purgatory in London: Circuses, Flamenco, Rock, Opera’s and some much more
I am still in London, even though in December I was told that I would be in Brazil (or the Emirates or Portugal). This unpredictability can very grating especially if you are trying to plan the next couple of months which include a wedding. However, London, in this sense is a great halfway house to … Continue reading »
Give a young prince some money and this is what he builds – Brighton’s Royal Pavilion
Like I said in the previous post about Brighton, I really didn’t know much about the city apart from its pier and the fact it was the place for attempted assassination of then Prime Minister Margret Thatcher. So I decided to download an iPhone guide app for Brighton. It was while looking through this app … Continue reading »
Piering into the English seaside city of Brighton
Years ago I was looking through old photo albums and stumbled upon a photo of my mom by a pebble beach in the UK. I was curious as I had not seen pebble beaches before and asked my mom about it. Her response was “That was in Brighton! I used to love Brighton beach!” For … Continue reading »
London has secrets too… Part 2
Continued from London has secrets too… Part 1 In the previous post in this series I briefly spoke about my Secret Cinema experience but as the current event was in progress I didn´t want to be a spoiler and let the cat out of the bag with regards to the movie that the organization was … Continue reading »
London has Secrets too… Part 1
The thing I missed the most about London (apart from my friends), was the cultural life. London is a city where you can have something different to do every single night of the week. These cultural activities can range from the theatre, opera, musicals, cinema, concerts and a multitude of other things to do. This … Continue reading »
When the sun shines in London, Londoners show the world their legs…
Anyone who has lived in London for amount of time will know the city is famous for its unpredictable weather. I say unpredictable. It’s actually quite predictable. It’s always dreary and cloudy. However, when the sun comes out from its long hiatuses, the city transforms itself into a tremendous city. People are friendlier, the city … Continue reading »
One Fine Day (or two, or three or six) on the foggy Island – Part 3
Raquel and I are up early as we are heading to Bath for the day. I know quite a few people who have been to Bath and every single one of them have said it’s a beautiful city, so both of us were really looking forward to the trip. We only had a day for … Continue reading »
One Fine Day (or two, or three or six) on the foggy Island – Part 2
It’s Sunday morning. Raquel and I are up early and we head to Gatwick airport. We are not flying anywhere; we’re picking up a car from the airport. You know what that means: ROAD TRIP! We are going to spend three days in the Cotswolds for some proper rest and relaxation in the stunning English … Continue reading »
One Fine Day (or two, or three or six) on the foggy Island – Part 1
I left Tripoli on the “Day of Rage” for London for six days of quality time with my girlfriend. Don’t worry, I will not be giving a detailed account of my relationship, but considering that I did a few cool things during my stay in the UK, I thought I’d share those things. To those … Continue reading »
London beckoned reunions of New Years past…
New Year = Champagne + Party + Friends The equation above meant I refused to stay in Libya to spend New Years Eve. I managed to get New Years Day off from work (It was merely another working day for us). I flew to London on Thursday night in what turned out to be quite … Continue reading »
I want to be in Libya for the weather, London for the company!
“From dust you came and to dust you will return” This must have been written with Libya in mind! I’m back in T-Town (that’s Tripoli for you unhip lot!) after spending a very nice weekend in London. This is my third re-entry into Libya and I’ve noticed that these becoming easier with time. I’m not … Continue reading »
