Addicted to Love (or is it Shisha?)

Smoking a nargile is nothing like smoking a cigarette. Cigarettes are for nervous people, competitive people, people on the run. When you smoke a nargile you have time to think. It teaches you patience and tolerance, and gives you an appreciation of good company. Nargile smokers have a much more balanced approach to life than cigarette smokers.

71-year-old Istanbul pensioner, Ismet Ertep, said as he looked up from his pipe.

Wise words. This post is therefore dedicated to everyone I’ve smoked a shisha with but in particular to Bilal, Umer and Amir with whom I spent countless hours in Layali Zaman, Tche’s Tche’s and Havana Cafe, in Abu Dhabi, smoking shisha and talking an infinite deal of nothing.

I should have included my friend and colleague, Farid, with who I spent quite a few lunch hours smoking shisha with.
